Ingredients
2 (15 oz) cans pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup apple cider or apple juic
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp salt
Directions
  1. Add all ingredients to a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir to combine. Allow the mixture to bubble. Then, reduce heat to a low simmer. Stir every 10 minutes. Cook (uncovered) for 30 to 40 minutes until the mixture has reduced, darkened and thickened. Let cool, and transfer to a container for storage. Store in the refrigerator. 
  2. DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice: Combine 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, 1/2 teaspoon allspice, 4 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg and 1 teaspoon ground ginger. (Makes 2 tablespoons)
