2 tsp McCormick Gourmet™ Global Selects Szechuan Pepper Salt & Spice Blend
2 tsp flaky sea salt
1 (1.5 to 2 lbs) flank steak
SAUCE: 1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 Tbs rice wine vinegar
2 Tbs light brown sugar
1 Tbs sesame oil
2 tsp Sriracha sauce
Directions
- Grind the peppercorns with the salt. Rub the steak with the mixture on both sides. In a small saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
- Heat a grill over high heat. Brush the grates with vegetable oil. Place meat on the grill. Quickly sear both sides for about 2 minutes per side. Generously baste the meat with the sauce. Turn again so that both sides are basted. Continue to cook for about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a cutting board. Let the meat rest for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain. Serve with remaining sauce.
- NOTE: Keep the flavor, but decrease the sodium by trying a lower-sodium soy sauce.
